Impact of dissolved oxygen on the production of nitrous oxide in biological aerated filters

摘要: Polymerase chain reaction-denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (PCR-DGGE) and microelectrode technology were employed to evaluate the Nitrous oxide (N O) production in biological aerated filters (BAFs) under varied dissolved oxygen (DO) concentrations during treating wastewater under laboratory scale. The average yield of gasous N O showed more than 4-fold increase when the DO levels were reduced from 6.0 to 2.0 mg·L , indicating that low DO may drive N O generation. PCR-DGGE results revealed that were dominant and may be responsible for N O emission from the BAFs system. While at a low DO concentration (2.0 mg·L ), might play a role. When DO concentration was the limiting factor (reduced from 6.0 to 2.0 mg·L ) for nitrification, it reduced NO -N oxidation as well as the total nitrification. The data from this study contribute to explain how N O production changes in response to DO concentration, and may be helpful for reduction of N O through regulation of DO levels.

Relationship between electricity consumption and economic growth of Guangdong Province in China

摘要: Guangdong is a province with the most electricity consumption (EC) and the fastest economic growth in China. However, there has long been a contradiction between electricity supply and demand in Guangdong and this trend may exist for a long time in the foreseeable future. Therefore, the research on the relationship between EC and economic growth of Guangdong is of very important practical significance to the formulation of relevant policy. In this paper, the econometrics method of granger causality test and co-integration test is used to analyze the relationship between EC and economic growth of Guangdong from 1978 to 2010. The results indicate that there is unidirectional causality between the economic growth and the EC, and the growth of gross domestic product (GDP) and gross industrial output value (GIOV) is the impetus to promote the growth of installedβcapacity (ICAP) and the EC. Therefore, the appropriate restraint of excessive growth of power industry will not necessarily slow down economic growth. There has been a long-term stable equilibrium relationship between the EC and the economic growth. When the GDP and GIOV grows 1 unit respectively, the EC of Guangdong province will increase 0.97 and 0.64 unit respectively. The long-term marginal utility of the EC is more than 1.

impacts of climate factors on regional agricultural and forestry biomass resources in north-eastern province

摘要: Dynamic analysis of biomass combined NPP modeling has been adopted. Temperature trends to warming and precipitation has periodic fluctuation. Regional distribution of agricultural and forestry biomass is mutual and divergent. Precipitation is significantly positive correlated with agricultural biomass. Temperature is negative on forestry biomass in Lesser Khingan & northern Changbai. Precipitation plays positive effect on biomass in southwestern Changbai Mountain. The dynamics of agricultural and forestry biomass are highly sensitive to climate change, particularly in high latitude regions. Heilongjiang Province was selected as research area in North-east China. We explored the trend of regional climate warming and distribution feature of biomass resources, and then analyzed on the spatial relationship between climate factors and biomass resources. Net primary productivity (NPP) is one of the key indicators of vegetation productivity, and was simulated as base data to calculate the distribution of agricultural and forestry biomass. The results show that temperatures rose by up to 0.37°C/10a from 1961 to 2013. Spatially, the variation of agricultural biomass per unit area changed from -1.93 to 5.85 t·km ·a during 2000–2013. More than 85% of farmland areas showed a positive relationship between agricultural biomass and precipitation. The results suggest that precipitation exerts an overwhelming climate influence on agricultural biomass. The mean density of forestry biomass varied from 10 to 30 t·km . Temperature had a significant negative effect on forestry biomass in Lesser Khingan and northern Changbai Mountain, because increased temperature leads to decreased Rubisco activity and increased respiration in these areas. Precipitation had a significant positive relationship with forestry biomass in south-western Changbai Mountain, because this area had a warmer climate and stress from insufficient precipitation may induce xylem cavitation. Understanding the effects of climate factors on regional biomass resources is of great significance in improving environmental management and promoting sustainable development of further biomass resource use.

Changes in major factors affecting the ecosystem health of the Weihe River in Shaanxi Province, China

摘要: Maintenance of the ecosystem health of a river is of great importance for local sustainable development. On the basis of both qualitative and quantitative analysis of the influence of natural variations and human activities on the ecosystem function of the Weihe River, the changes in major factors affecting its ecosystem health are determined, which include: 1) Deficiency of environment flow: since the 1960s, the incoming stream flow shows an obvious decreasing tendency. Even in the low flow period, 80% of the water in the stream is impounded by dams for agriculture irrigation in the Baoji district. As a result, the water flow maintained in the stream for environmental use is very limited. 2) Deterioration of water quality: the concentrations of typical pollutants like Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) and NH -N are higher than their maximum values of the Chinese environmental quality standard. Very few fish species can survive in the River. 3) Deformation of water channels: the continuous channel sedimentation has resulted in the decrease in stream gradient, shrinkage of riverbed and the decline in the capability for flood discharge. 4) Loss of riparian vegetation: most riparian land has been occupied by urban construction activities, which have caused the loss of riparian vegetation and biodiversity and further weakened flood control and water purification functions.

The epidemic status and risk factors of lung cancer in Xuanwei City, Yunnan Province, China

摘要:

Xuanwei City (formerly known as Xuanwei County) locates in the northeastern of Yunnan Province and is rich in coal, iron, copper and other mines, especially the smoky (bituminous) coal. Unfortunately, the lung cancer morbidity and mortality rates in this region are among China’s highest, with a clear upward trend from the mid-1970s to mid-2000s. In 2004–2005, the crude death rate of lung cancer was 91.3 per 100 000 in the whole Xuanwei City, while that for Laibin Town in this city was 241.14 per 100 000. The epidemiologic distribution (clustering patterns by population, time, and space) of lung cancer in Xuanwei has some special features, e.g., high incidence in rural areas, high incidence in females, and an early age peak in lung cancer deaths. The main factor that associates with a high rate of lung cancer incidence was found to be indoor air pollution caused by the indoor burning of smoky coal. To a certain extent, genetic defects are also associated with the high incidence of lung cancer in Xuanwei. Taken together, lung cancer in this smoky coal combustion region is a unique model for environmental factor-related human cancer, and the current studies indicate that abandoning the use of smoky coal is the key to diminish lung cancer morbidity and mortality.

关键技术的突破促进塔里木气区的发现

摘要:

塔里木气区包括塔北一库车气区和塔西南气区两大部份。塔北一库车气区已成为我国最大的天然气富集区之一,该气区北部存在着特大型气田,但地势陡峻,地质结构复杂,长期以来是勘探工作的禁区。经过近十年的系统攻关,关键技术获得重要进展:一是山地地震勘探取得突破;二是综合地质研究取得新认识;三是复杂地质条件下的钻探取得成功。

这些技术促使库车地区天然气勘探获得大进展,并发现了克拉2号特大型气田,探明储量2506×108m3,是“西气东输”的主力气田。目前,塔里木气区已探明天然气储量4688×108m3(16.5TCF),对“西气东输”项目的启动做出了重要贡献。

摘要: In order to explore the effect of different ecological zones and their above plants in the organic matter cycling of the whole tidal salt marsh, indicators such as total organic carbon (TOC), total nitrogen (TN), C/N ratio, ?C and ?N of surface, core sediments, and plants of tidal salt marshes in North Jiangsu Province are analyzed. Subsequently, distribution regularities of these measurement indicators are discussed, and the biogeochemistry processes between sediments and plants are also analyzed. Lastly, the organic matter sources of different ecologic zones in tidal salt marsh are evaluated, and the organic matter accumulations in different ecologic zones induced by their plants are also compared. These results indicate that TOC, TN, C/N ratio and C showed obvious zonal distribution. The organic matter sources are dominated by marine input in the silt flat, flat, and the transition zone between silt and flat, and are controlled by terrigenous input in s flat. plays an important role in the accumulation of organic matter in the whole tidal salt marshes ecosystem. In the study area, the annually increased TOC, organic matter and TN in the , and reed flats reach 6,451, 12,043 and 536 t, respectively. The amount of TOC, organic matter and TN accumulated in the flat is more than that in other ecological zones, which shows that the flat exert a non-replaceable effect on the material cycle and exchange in the whole tidal salt marshes ecosystem.

Temporal changes in the characteristics of algae in Dianchi Lake, Yunnan Province, China

摘要: Algal blooms have become a worldwide environmental concern due to water eutrophication. Dianchi Lake in Yunnan Province, China is suffering from severe eutrophication and is listed in the Three Important Lakes Restoration Act of China. Hydrothermal liquefaction allows a promising and direct conversion of algal biomass into biocrude oil. In this study, algal samples were collected from Dianchi Lake after a separation procedure including dissolved air flotation with polyaluminum chloride and centrifugation during four months, April, June, August and October. The algal biochemical components varied over the period; lipids from 0.7% to 2.1% ash-free dry weight (afdw), protein from 20.9% to 33.4% afdw and ash from 36.6% to 45.2% dry weight. The algae in June had the highest lipid and protein concentrations, leading to a maximum biocrude oil yield of 24.3% afdw. Biodiversity analysis using pyrosequencing revealed different distributions of microbial communities, specifically in April (89.0%), June (63.7%) and August (84.0%), and in April (2.2%), June (12.0%) and August (1.0%). This study demonstrated remarkable temporal changes in the biochemical composition and biodiversity of algae harvested from Dianchi Lake and changes in biocrude oil production potential.

benefits of power generation by straw biomass —A case study on the Sheyang Straw Power Plants in Jiangsu Province

摘要: Power generation using straw biomass has quantifiable benefits from an economic, ecological, and sociological perspective in China. The methods used to construct the assessment models of these integrated benefits were the revenue capitalization approach and the discounted-cash-flow approach. The results indicated that a straw power plant with the capacity of 2.50×10 W and burning 1.23×10 tons of cotton straw could annually supply 1.40×10 kWh of power. However, it would not be until six years later that these results could be measured. Over the long term, the gross benefits could reach up to 4.63×10 Yuan. Therefore, the total benefits are expected to be 1.18 × 10 Yuan if all available straw resources are used to generate power. The policy implication showed that the long-term integrated benefits of power generation by straw biomass outweighed the short-term benefits. This is the main incentive to use straw biomass for power generation in the future.

浙江省制造业技术改造智能升级的经验与启示

摘要:

实现制造业技术改造智能升级是深化供给侧结构性改革的重要举措,然而我国制造业整体发展水平不均,有效地推动产业基础广泛的转型更迭是现阶段我国产业政策的难点。2013年以来,浙江省在推进制造业技术改造智能升级方面积累了丰富的工作经验,并在提高制造业产品质量、缓解招工压力、改善投资结构、培育新兴产业等方面取得了显著成果。本文基于对浙江省制造业的实地调研,归纳梳理了浙江省在制造业技术改造智能升级过程中在发挥政府引导、激发企业主观能动性、优化市场供给等方面的主要做法及成效。文章最后为我国全面推进制造业智能化技术改造提供了政策建议。

Use of zeolitized coal fly ash in the simultaneous removal of ammonium and phosphate from aqueous solution

摘要: Discharge of wastewater containing nitrogen and phosphate can cause eutrophication. Therefore, the development of an efficient material for the immobilization of the nutrients is important. In this study, a low calcium fly ash and high calcium fly ash were converted into zeolite using the hydrothermal method. The removal of ammonium and phosphate that coexist in aqueous solution by the synthesized zeolites were studied. The results showed that zeolitized fly ash could efficiently eliminate ammonium and phosphate at the same time. Saturation of zeolite with Ca rather than N favored the removal of both ammonium and phosphate because the cation exchange reaction by the NH resulted in the release of Ca into the solution and precipitation of Ca with PO followed. An increase in the temperature elevated the immobilization of phosphate whereas it abated the removal of ammonium. Nearly 60% removal efficiency for ammonium was achieved in the neutral pH range from 5.5 to 10.5, while the increase or decrease in pH out of the neutral range lowered the adsorption. In contrast, the removal of phosphate approached 100% at a pH lower than 5.0 or higher than 9.0, and less phosphate was immobilized at neutral pH. However, there was still a narrow pH range from 9.0 to 10.5 favoring the removal of both ammonium and phosphate. It was concluded that the removal of ammonium was caused by cation exchange; the contribution of NH volatilization to immobilization at alkaline conditions (up to pH level of 11.4) was limited. With respect to phosphate immobilization, the mechanism was mainly the formation of precipitate as Ca(PO) within the basic pH range or as FePO and AlPO within acidic pH range.

Industrial Structure Adjustment of Shaanxi Province under the Limited Water Resources Condition

摘要: Shaanxi Province is a region poor of water resources in China, and the lack of water resources is becoming a key factor which restricts the social and economic development of Shaanxi Province. In the perspective of efficient utilization of water resources, Shaanxi Province is committed to the transformation of the economic growth and the industrial structure, and treats these measures as important guarantees for the future development of Shaanxi Province. This paper focuses on building multi-objective programming model of industrial structure optimization under the limited water resources condition, indicates the direction of the industrial transformation and water consumption structural adjustment by solving the model, and furthermore points out the key factors that affect the development of Shaanxi Province in the future. Finally, the authors give some advices of promoting the reasonable and effective utilization of water resources of Shaanxi Province.
